You’ve probably heard this hundreds of times before, but it’s such a simple way to improve your skin’s appearance and health. When we go to sleep, our skin works overtime to repair, renew and rejuvenate itself, sloughing off old skin cells and bringing the new fresh ones to the surface. Having makeup sitting on the skin impedes this process and stops your skin from exfoliating itself. Not only does this lead to duller skin, but also makes breakouts more likely, as the makeup clogs your pores.

Try A Skin Peel

Chemical skin peels, for many people, conjure up the image of red, raw, burning skin, but this really isn’t the case. The most common piece of skincare advice ever is to drink more water, but there’s a reason for it! Staying hydrated helps your body function normally, allowing water to be used everywhere in the body that it needs to, including your skin. Hydrated skin is clearer and less oily, as the skin doesn’t need to produce as much oil to retain its moisture, meaning you can see a reduction in both dry skin and breakouts by keeping yourself hydrated. Katie recommends you try to drink around 6-8 glasses of water a day, and more if you’re exercising or in a hot climate.
