Make Your Face Glow In 5 Easy Steps

Fresh, glowing skin is something we’re all after, but unfortunately, our skin can be affected by so many different elements it can sometimes seem unattainable. At Katie Alex Aesthetics, Katie is passionate about helping her clients get the best skin of their lives, leaving them feeling rejuvenated, fresh and better than ever. In this blog post, we’ll share some of Katie’s easy tips to get glowing skin!

Always Remove Your Makeup

You’ve probably heard this hundreds of times before, but it’s such a simple way to improve your skin’s appearance and health. When we go to sleep, our skin works overtime to repair, renew and rejuvenate itself, sloughing off old skin cells and bringing the new fresh ones to the surface. Having makeup sitting on the skin impedes this process and stops your skin from exfoliating itself. Not only does this lead to duller skin, but also makes breakouts more likely, as the makeup clogs your pores.

Try A Skin Peel

Chemical skin peels, for many people, conjure up the image of red, raw, burning skin, but this really isn’t the case. At Katie Alex Aesthetics, Katie offers medical-grade TCA skin peels to help exfoliate the top layers of the skin, leaving the fresh, tight and glowing skin underneath. Chemical skin peels penetrate the skin deeper than face scrubs or at home remedies, allowing skin to breathe and glow. The results of chemical peels improve for about a week after the treatment to see optimum results.

Make Sure You Have An SPF in Your Routine

You’ve probably heard this one before too, but the importance of SPF can’t be understated! Sun damage is one of the leading causes of the signs of aging, and can also lead to more serious skin conditions, even on cloudy or overcast days. Katie’s favourite SPF is the Alumier MD three in one, which also acts as a moisturiser and makeup, to save you time and effort in the morning too!

Use A Vitamin C Serum

Beside an SPF, the one thing Katie recommends everyone has in their skincare routine is vitamin C. Vitamin C helps to gently exfoliate the top layers of skin, creating that beautiful glow, and also has anti-ageing, anti-oxidant and sun protecting properties. Katie’s favourite vitamin C product is the EverActive C&E serum from Alumier MD, which uses revolutionary technology to provide the benefits of vitamin C in a very high, super-effective concentration.

Drink Water!

The most common piece of skincare advice ever is to drink more water, but there’s a reason for it! Staying hydrated helps your body function normally, allowing water to be used everywhere in the body that it needs to, including your skin. Hydrated skin is clearer and less oily, as the skin doesn’t need to produce as much oil to retain its moisture, meaning you can see a reduction in both dry skin and breakouts by keeping yourself hydrated. Katie recommends you try to drink around 6-8 glasses of water a day, and more if you’re exercising or in a hot climate.
